District 4 Councilman Tom LaBonge, and Hollywood Field Deputy Erik Sanjurjo, thank HMD stakeholders at the 6th Annual General Meeting of Property and business owners. |
This year the BID welcomed many new property and business owners to the meeting from the expansion area of the BID. Many city officials
also attended the party, including Councilmember Tom LaBonge; Bill Kysella, Neighborhood Prosecutor; Erik Sanjurjo, Council District 4 Field Deputy; Stan Horowitz, Bureau of Street
Lighting; Miranda Paster, City Clerk’s Office;
and Peter Gutierrez, City Attorney.

who then introduced President Jack Fleming. Fleming reported on current projects in progress, including Security Cameras throughout the BID,
a proposed parking structure, and several
grants.
LaBonge was the featured guest speaker, who thanked HMD stakeholders for improving the quality of life in the Media District. He also introduced his Field Deputy Erik Sanjurjo who has worked closely with the BID on several projects, including coordinating a meeting between the MTA and Caltrans in order to expedite the improvements on Highland and Santa Monica.
Horowitz spoke about upcoming Pedestrian Lighting improvements, and Paster introduced herself as the new Supervisor for the Special Assessments Section of the City Clerk’s Office, the department which oversees BID funding.
Special thanks to Iron Mountain, Hollywood Center Studios, Mole Richardson and Grub for making the event a success!As many of you know, Officer Vince Aguirre, formerly the Senior Lead Officer for the area of Hollywood which includes the Media District, has moved on to a new position with the force.
Please join us at the next Business Watch Meeting where Officer Chuck Moore, who has been serving the area in the interim, will introduce the new Senior Lead Officer.
The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 13 at Noon, 6501 Fountain Avenue, in the Hollywood Community Room. Lunch will be provided as always; please RSVP to Devin at 323-460-6322.

In addition to the grand opening, PATH also launched “Project Y!MBY" (Yes! In My Backyard) a new collaborative that will connect local providers and implement local solutions to end homelessness.
